Terms of use

Vocabulario is a free Spanish vocabulary game, run as a personal project. These terms are short because the arrangement is simple: use it, and it costs you nothing and promises you nothing.

Using it

You may use Vocabulario for your own learning, for free, with or without an account. You are asked not to attempt to break it, overload it, or use it to store or distribute anything unrelated to learning vocabulary.

Your account

Signing in is optional and exists only to carry your progress between devices. You are responsible for the Google account you sign in with. You can stop at any time by signing out, and have everything deleted by emailing hello@ryan-mapa.dev. See the privacy policy for what is stored.

No guarantees

This is provided as is. There is no guarantee that it will be available, that your progress will be preserved, or that the vocabulary is free of mistakes — the words are hand-authored and not reviewed by a professional translator. It is a study aid, not a teacher, and not a substitute for one.

The service may change or stop entirely without notice. If you want your progress somewhere safe, Move progress in the footer hands you a copy you keep yourself.

The vocabulary

Words are Latin American Spanish with US English glosses. Where usage varies across the Spanish-speaking world, the app says so after you answer. Regional variation is real, and a word marked correct here may not be the one used where you are.

The code

The source is public at github.com/ryan-mapa/vocabulario. Anything you can read there is what is actually running here.
